Gravitas is a small business based in Stockport, Cheshire. Director and founder John Spencer has been developing and providing IT-based business and efficiency solutions for organisations of all sizes for more than 20 years, previously as John Spencer Associates. Gravitas was formed following John's partnership with Karen, to offer a wider range of products and service to commercial companies and not-for-profit organisations — particularly those involved in community-based activities.

The development of bespoke, IT-based solutions to business problems remains the core of our business, but our extended base of skills and experience has enabled us to diversify into the areas of criminal justice, and decision conferencing.

More recently we have started to develop our own range of products to aid productivity in the workplace, the first of which is CORS, our case outcome recording system for community organisations.

One of our key benefits is the fact that we solve problems and develop products using standard, off-the-shelf office software. This dramatically reduces the investment needed by our customers. In fact we often find they already have the necessary software needed to run the tools we provide for them. We are able to achieve this through an in-depth understanding of the power and capabilities of packages such as Excel, Access, SQL Server, etc.
