'The Wise Decison Maker'
After a slightly unconventional educational route, Julie attained an MSc in Medical Statistics with data processing from Leicester University, followed by 3 years working in statistics in academia. She changed direction to computing by working for a major bank, where she worked on small projects as a systems programmer and progressed to working in systems design on a large bank-wide project.
Julie gave up work while her two sons were young. Just as she was ready to return to work, her husband’s job moved to Brussels; "We spent seven great years there, during which time – as well as getting a taste for Belgian Chocolates and biere blanche - I caught up with current technologies through the Open University, and gained a Diploma in Computing and a Certificate in Web development," Julie says.
Before joining Gravitas Julie was self-employed: working on web-related developments for small businesses. She was also closely involved with Krysalis Ltd, where she worked on the development of its MCDA decision-making software, as a decision analyst at decision-making conferences and as an analyst for bespoke solutions.
